Tim's Heartstarter
30 mls brandy 30 mls Cointreau 30 mls lemon juice Pour the brandy, Cointreau and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with ice, Shake well and strain into a chilled glass.  Blithe Spirit [title of one of Coward's most famous plays] 45 ml Absinthe 15 ml lime juice 2 teaspoons of green Creme De Menthe 2 sprigs of mint Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake well, then strain into a chilled glass over ice cubes, tear mint leaves in half before adding to your glass. Then drink with gay abandon. Tight at 8.30 30 ml gin 15 ml Grand Marnier 30 ml orange juice 1 teaspoon of lemon juice orange peel. Pour gin, Grand Marnier, orange juice and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, then strain into a chilled glass, twist the orange peel above the glass and drop it in. Bitter Sweet - [ title of Noël Coward's1929 operetta ] 45 ml sweet vermouth 45 ml dry vermouth 2 dashes of Angostura bitters 1 dash of orange bitters orange peel Stir together the sweet and dry vermouth, Angostura and bitters with ice. Strain into a chilled glass, twist the orange peel above the glass and drop it in. |
