Greetings! I am Tim McKew, I play Noël Coward
in my new show and I am accompanied by Peter DeRyk on the Piano and
Amber Lomanowicz on Trumpet. For booking enquiries
please email me
timmckew@rabbit.com.au to exchange telephone numbers.
My show is a tribute to the great Noël Coward, one of the 20th
century's most acclaimed entertainers. The show is a celebration of '
The Masters' musical genius, wit and elegance.
Although much of Coward's material was written back in the 20s, 30s
and 40s, it is still as fresh and resonant today!
Human nature hasn't changed very much. I present some of Coward,s most
loved songs, strung together with biographical and anecdotal delights,
including the classic witty numbers of 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen'
and 'Mrs Worthington' - where Noël delivers no mercy
on such shows as Australian Idol and Big Brother and puts Paris Hilton
in her place with ' Poor Little Rich Girl '. Some of Cowards
haunting lyrical ballads, such as ' 21 Century Blues ' and 'Someday
I'll find You' can also be enjoyed .
I present the show with a strong 21st Century twist. Coward was always
up to the minute on the issues of his day. I feel I am working within
the Coward spirit, I hope you think so too.
The Noël Coward tour has been very satisfying. It had its debut
at the grand 'Australian Club', Melbourne, where it was booked for a
very posh 40th wedding anniversary and the A list were attired in 1920's
costume [look out for the footage coming up soon!].
The next stop was the historic Theatre Royal in Castlemaine, where Noël
shared the dressing room with the ghost of Lola Montez; and did you
know that Noël had a cousin born in Vaughan, just a few miles from
Castlemaine.
We are now off to The Walter Burley Griffin Incinerator Arts Complex
in Moonee Ponds with a ripping season held during The Commonwealth Games,
or as Noël prefers to call them ,The Empire Games! Starting each
show with the audience singing ' God Save The Queen' and a champagne
toast at the end of each show [footage coming soon] the audience are
guaranteed an extraordinary nostalgic experience that will leave them
smiling and contented.
Then off to the famous Capers/Jambah in Hawthorn. Noël is then
invited to sing at a very special 80th Birthday Dinner, for Queen Elizabeth
11, at The Alexandra Club,Collins st., Melbourne, with guests including
Sir Zelman Cohen and Dame Elisabeth Murdoch in attendance, tapping her
walking stick to ' Mad Dogs and Englishmen'.
In July Noël performed at Dantes Fitzroy, with full house and rapturous
encores, Dantes Dress Circle was rather hot!. Dear Noël Coward
fans, more shows coming soon, shall keep you posted.
Tim & Noël .
